Books
Learn Go with Pocket-Sized Projects
If you want to learn the Go programming language this is the book for you. It is practical from chapter 2 (chapter 1 is for introductions), and introduces the language syntax, features and tooling fast and in a clear way. There is so much to appreciate in this book.
Articles
Giving Go a Go: Simplifying Cloud Infrastructure Development
And if you don’t know why you would be interested in Go, this article brings up some compelling reasons.
Ideas from "A Philosophy of Software Design"
And talking more about complexity, a topic that Go is trying to tackle, here it comes this article. It is all about bad patterns that cause complexity and how to avoid them.
For sure you’ve read the news and you know that this week the Nobel prizes for physics and chemistry were awarded for AI-related research. This article is not really enthusiastic about one of them. You may not like it, but I find it an interesting opinion.
A/B testing is not a trivial task, and many errors can be made during the process. This article talks about some of them and how to avoid them. Learn from someone else’s experience.
We’ve all been there, starting projects enthusiastically and never finish them, because there is another project shortly after that starts with the same enthusiasm. This short article is about the author’s experience in ending this wasteful behavior.
Podcasts
The pragmatic engineer is one of my favorite newsletter, one I pay for also. Now a podcast started from the same author, and the first episode is super interesting! The topic is AI, which was missing from this newsletter today so far, and there is so much food for thought!
