We’re back this week with new content to enjoy! Here I review content I consumed in the last week, so you can decide whether to go for it or not.

Books
Nice introduction to Bayesian statistics via explanations in English and Python. No math included. You may want to get to the math after you grasp the concepts here.
Articles
A long and thought-provoking articles about two types of knowledge workers. Understanding vs practicality. And a bias towards one of these two.
Story Points are pointless, measure queues
On the hard problem of estimating project durations. The answer is, like in other conceptual frameworks, to not try to estimate days or their surrogates. “Scrum” ideas like story points just don’t work because they are ideas taken and applied out of context. Use a different approach instead.
Podcasts
An interview to an enthusiast of programming with LLMs. I think that many of his claims are exaggerated or are trying to discount current issues with probable future gains, but still interesting.
An interview about Bayesian statistics to Alex Andorra, host of the podcast “Learning Bayesian Statistics”.
Still another interview. This time about the recent developments in the python ecosystem that let Python developers write high-performance programs without a need to use lower-level languages like C++ (directly).
